Shift the Weight

John 4:8-12

Context: Jesus is going to the cross. They had the Last Supper and tells the disciples he will be crucified and Peter will deny him. Trying to convince them that even as this is happening God is still in it.

On our way into ascension and now everything is going to fall apart?

"Lord show us the Father, it is sufficient for us...I do not speak on my own authority but the Father who dwells in me does the works."

May our response be obedience.

How do I go higher without losing the ability to fly? How do I add more weight and still go higher? The weight is non-negotiable.

Had to be willing to withstand things getting heavier in order to go higher.

God is showing us that all weight is not bad.

Science shows us that we can only soar higher with the additional weight. Some weight is meant to work for you.

You can't be a lightweight and handle what's next. He's been training you by adding the weight.

The greater the height, the greater the weight.

This weight is designed for you to travel the distance, you've got a mission. God's not going to put you in it and you run out of gas.

Before lift-off, being shown how to manage the weight so you have the endurance when you're in the air.

I won't crash out - I've been training for this. Been through too much to crash out.

The greater the height, the greater the responsibilities. It's hard having a successful business.

Luke 12 - To whom much is given, much is required.

So much weight on you that it doesn't always feel like success.

Elijah asked for a double portion, and also received double trouble as well.

Responsible for things I didn't even know came with this. There's some things you wouldn't be able to handle had God not given you the capacity.

Stop expecting others to have the capacity that God gave you. Others would have quit, but not you. He gave you the grace to do it.

He graced me for this. He's making a demand on what He gave me. That's why no one can do it but you.

Anointed but undercover.

God has given you an insight, wisdom, ability that only you can see. Others can't be as passionate about something that He gave you because only you will take it to another level.

They can't do it, only you can do it. You are the only one who sees it how God sees it.

It's heavy on your heart because it's heavy on God's heart. Partner with God to bring breakthrough.

We were built to carry a weight that no one else can carry but us. Dealing with the heaviness as we navigate life. Stop trying to split the responsibility with someone else, God wants to carry this weight together.

Your paradigm will change once you come into agreement with God.

He gave you capacity for resilience, capacity, power, strength, etc.

Moments I thought I couldn't do it by myself.

When God gives you a weight that feels too heavy to carry; it's part of the process of your spiritual development - The higher you go, the heavier you become.

The closer I get to God, the more He develops me. Able to see how far I actually am from him. The level of brokenness and trauma that has become my norm is so far off from who I am supposed to be.

Have to release people and things that aren't aligned the closer you get to God.

Sometimes God gives us a vision of who we've been and who we've yet to be and it makes us heavy knowing how off track we are.

There's so much work to do.

The disciples are dealing with heaviness in this text. Didn't realize graduating is heavy, the cost of promotion is more weight.

Weight is a sign of trust. He can trust who you've become in the development process.

Things get heavier in the areas where you're supposed to feel success.

John 14:9 - He who has seen me, knows the Father.

If you can remember the miracles that happened along the way, you will see God has been with you this entire time.

The only reason why you are qualified to carry the weight is because He's been with you all along the way.

God: "I didn't change my mind, you graduated. When you walk with me and allow me to lead you, things may get heavier before lift-off."

The disciples were heavy from everything that was happening.

Not a weight problem but a faith problem.

Jesus repeats, "Believe in me. I wasn't just good then, I'm good now. Believe in me."

There's a distinction between believing in things rather than believing in Him.

Culture has hijacked faith and made it about an outcome. Keep your faith in God.

Works are the overflow of faith. Greater works requires greater faith.

If you focus on the weight and lose faith, you'll lose access to the strategy to take that weight to new heights.

He will send you truth, wisdom, guidance to make sure you have access to higher.

He's going to make sure you're not left with this weight, you're not carrying this weight on your own.

Shift the weight. God will show you how to soar with it. Trust Him with it.

He gave more weight for this next dimension to increase your faith.

What are you doing with God gave you? There are steps that you need to take by faith.

Your response: Move in the direction of what He said.

Water that seed with your actions.

Your obedience cannot stop at the place of an outcome.
