Protect Your Edge

There's a moment that comes when you can't stretch your routine anymore.

Change can't fit within the context of our routines.

Numbers 20:2-13 NKJV

Context

Moses is leading the children of Israel into the promise land.

  • They are closer than they've ever been, still struggling with trusting God in the next phase of their life.

Have to be willing to let go of our routines in order to accommodate the gifts God gives us.

"Your goal is only as good as the routine that you're willing to implement to support what you're going after."

Cognitive Flexibility - when we give our mind the ability to not be locked into the routines that we understand, but instead allowing ourselves the capacity to do things differently.

Break out of your routine. It's time.

God's working in a way that's different than before.

Sometimes God gives us a revelation and if we aren't careful, we'll try to make the revelation fit within our routine - Not recognizing the revelation is meant to break us out of our routine.

Most want the promises of God but we don't want to break out of our routine that allows for the promise to have enough room to take root.

We are so restricted in our routines, that God couldn't bless us if we wanted to because we are so married to our routine. Can't grow in this environment.

If God is breaking you out of cycles, it's because you can't thrive in that environment.

Revelation is reserved for those willing to break out of their routine.

It's not uncommon for God to give us a vision that requires us to let go of the routine that has once made us comfortable.

Rather be where God is moving now than in the comfort of where I used to be.

God's plan are to prosper you, not to harm you.

If you want to be something different, you have to do something different.

Sometimes you gotta shake up your own life in order to move in the direction He's calling you to. We ask for more but have not responded to the first revelation.

Your obedience is connected to your next.

Don't miss your mark while you grieve you're routine - step into what God wants to do now. It won't break until you move.

Act like you only got one shot to get this right. Don't abuse His grace.

Ephesians 4:17 - testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind.

You don't have to do this like everyone else is. They walk that way because they haven't seen the light.

Ephesians 4:21-22 - You have a responsibility because you saw the light.

Allow your spirit to lead your mind - this is the rewiring of the mind.

"Put on the new man which was created by God in righteousness."

Once you get out of your routine, you can allow God's pace to order your steps.

Not on auto-pilot, on God pilot. Being led by the Holy spirit with the goal of being transformed; a reflection of true righteousness and holiness.

Holiness is an inside job. If you lose your identity and your holiness, you become common.

Meet God where you are. He reaches down with the goal of elevating you.

Stretch up to where He is for this second half of the year.

Get comfortable being set apart, this is your advantage.

View this transition as holy.

When God sends confirmation, don't let that slip between your fingers. If you don't see it as holy, you can't see it at all.

The naysayers are stuck in their routine, focus on the strategy I gave you.

Holiness and heaviness living in the same place distorts the way we hear and do - we start falling back into our old routine.

This is about who you need to become and what you need to lay down.

"You cannot be trusted to do, until you surrender to becoming." - Sarah Jakes Roberts
