Everything He Promised

John 4:20-28

"The hour cometh when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in the spirit."

Context: Entering a time of delivery between Jesus and the woman at the well.

The conversation is starting to pivot towards what Jesus is going to do through her.

God is spirit - Jesus was controversial; he was radical.

While we labor to fit in, we serve a God who stood out.

Any time you are different, you will be controversial. Most have never been their authentic selves because they need validation from other people.

We compromise our revelation for validation to fit in.

Backing away from a situation helps you to see why you're in it. Sometimes you're too close to the problem to understand the "WHY" - Most don't understand until after you go through it.

When you're dealing with it, you're feeling with it. The feelings stop your telescope and bring you down to a microscopic perspective of being hurt. We miss the reason why we're in this season.

Genesis 22:18

"Through thy seed shall all nations of the Earth be blessed."

The Samaritans and the Jews did not get along. A rift between them that's gone on for centuries; A generational fight. Most of our beliefs are passed down to us.

Have to learn how to separate what was cast onto you versus what's really you.

We often focus on what divides us and identify by what differentiates us. The differences have become more important than the similarities.

Jesus was radical enough to do and go where you're not supposed to. If Jesus set you free, why would you let people bind you up?

Stand in the power of what God called you to do. It doesn't matter who doesn't like you, God loves you. Can't afford to let the way people think incarcerate the way you live.

Jesus went to the well and was waiting on her, even though she was a Samaritan.

You have to have courage to be different. Be your own person.

God doesn't do anything by accident. He was breaking down the barriers so you can enter this moment of miracles. God's about to do a new thing in you - everybody can't handle it but that's okay.

It's time for you to do what called you to do. Everyone can't grow with you.

Have to be careful about selective grace.

Sometimes God will use people to bless you that don't fit the narrative of your expectations.

Asked you to be a leader but you've never done it before.

You're trying to fight the call over your life because you don't feel qualified yet God keeps calling you.

Called you to ministry - it's something you must do. Whatever it is God called you to, it's time to do it.

He waited on her; knew sooner or later that the woman at the well would show up. 🤍

The hour cometh and now is. Everything that He promised is coming to pass.
