Context: Peter and Jesus are having a dialogue - trying to see if He understands the magnitude of who Jesus is. As a result of him understanding who He is, Peter receives insight to God's strategy.
Now he has access to the mystery of what God is doing in the Earth.
Matthew 16:18-28
"And on this rock, I will build My church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail you. And I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.."
Something shifted in his mentality about what was taking place.
From training to actualization - there is a demand for what you've been preparing for.
It's time to put all that you have learned into action.
God gives us specialized training for the moment you're deployed to the frontlines.
Always place the mission first, never accept defeat.
Spiritual development = entering into a space that we have been trained for.
Have been in process but the season is now. Get aligned with people who have also been preparing to step into the battle with their name on it.
We don't spend enough time letting people know that they have been enlisted.
You weren't just saved from, you were saved for.
Saved for a mission, a purpose - to be a part of God's army. He needs a specific type of soldier with a specific set of skills, background, communication, look, etc. - to take back what the enemy stole.
A kingdom mentality requires that you move and think like a conqueror. Claim what's yours.
God anointed you with this territory. Your name is on it.
You're a land owner. Didn't have to sign a deed or a loan; God trusted you with it.
Understand that you are a territory and you have a territory.
Peter understands this.
The enemy is trying to keep you from walking in the full power and anointing of who you are.
If you don't sustain your territory, the enemy will catch you slipping.
All you have to do is remember who you are and rebuke him to reclaim your territory.
Get back in position and ready to fight over your territory.
Sometimes you just need a reminder. We serve a God that will lift you above the plots of the enemy.
Ephesians 2
"You used to live in sin.."
When you're not obeying Him, you're obeying the one who's come to destroy the will of God.
Ask yourself who are you in obedience to right now?
We all used to live this way. That's why you didn't do what God needed you to do. You were blinded by pleasure.
As long as you were blinded by the enemy, there was no need to attack you.
"But God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions.." (Ephesians 2:4)
God is saying, "Excuse me, I still have a call on your life."
He still performs miracles. He comes through when you least expect it.
The devil almost has his way with you. But God claimed you, He sent His angels after you because you are God's territory.
Say it out loud - "I am God's territory and that's why the enemy can't have his way with me."
God brought me to myself and forced me to break covenant with the enemy because it was killing me.
Have you ever loved something that you knew was killing you but loved it anyway?
"...He gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead."
Give God permission to conquer the thing that has you caught up. You'll go from being dead to alive.
Now that you understand this, He's putting you in position to conquer.
Conquering is contagious - when people see you get victory, they believe that the same God that did it for me, can do it for you.
He that began a work in ME! (Philippians 1:6) Nervous and afraid but I'm going to do it anyway - He will supply all of my needs.
Put yourself in a position to access His supply.
Receive your identity as a conqueror. This is your inheritance.
You making it was ALWAYS a part of His plan.
A win is a win. May have been a bloody win but you came through on the other side anyway.
Enemy is after your identity as a conqueror. If you will believe that you don't have what it takes, he'll take your territory.
Your testimony are your keys.
Use these keys to establish the kingdom of heaven and bring people to it.
"Whatever you bind on earth, has been bound in Heaven."
Angels aren't walking around feeling depressed or inadequate.
Sometimes you have to bind your own thoughts. If this thought can't exist in the heavenly realms, it can't exist on the earthly realm.
Bind things up in this season.
Bind my mind Lord so all I think, see, speak and move is YOU.
If it's bound in heaven, it ought to be bound in your life.
God is giving you the strength to bind and loose what's already been loosed in heaven.
Change your mind on what it means to conquer. An intentional suffering of your flesh is in order to become the conqueror God knows you can be.
Don't resist the moments of suffering. Suffering produces glory.
1 Peter 4:1
"Since Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourself with the same mind."
The greatest thing you will ever conquer is you.
Have to get over yourself to step into the will of God.
None of this happens if we don't embrace the reality of who Jesus is. You have been enlisted, you are a soldier.
God will send you to dark places with your basic training - You've been called to conquer it and be the light.
To create pathways to the kingdom of heaven.
You haven't seen your best yet. Haven't seen what God has blessed as your best.
